October Event

Dear Friends of InsightLA, Old & New,

A deep sincere Thank You to all of you who attended the October 13th event and to all of you who were unable to make it but were with us in your hearts and minds.

We’d like to share some of the highlights from the evening.

The evening started with Jack Kornfield holding a private teaching in the forest cabin.     For those who were able to attend, it was an opportunity of a lifetime to sit intimately with such a profound teacher and lovingly practice the dharma.

The Main event – techies scrambled to complete final preparation while the musicians readied their instruments.

Guests arrived and soon the air was filled with the sounds of people talking and laughing and connecting.

And eating… Michele Gan’s food was amazing. Spicy Tuna was a favorite.

From top to bottom, quite a spread indeed.Joey Lugassy and his group of wonderful musicians played. Their spirited sounds echoed around the estate – the perfect accompaniment to the event.

We all hung out until the sky turned to night.

And the evening began… Almost 300 people came out to support InsightLA and to celebrate 10 mindful years.

Sandra Oh, our brilliant emcee, took center stage with grace and charm while she ushered in the program.

Trudy Goodman spoke and led a beautiful meditation and introduced the guest of honor.

Jack Kornfield shared his unique perspective and insightful teachings as well as leading a meditation.

An inspired film by director Jefery Levy led us to the close of our evening.

We closed with Jack and Trudy and a vision for 10 more years of dharma and community.

Thank you all so much for supporting InsightLA.

As you know, this event was a fundraiser to support the work we’re doing together – the work of sharing mindfulness and compassion throughout the community of Los Angeles and beyond. We are humbled by all of your support over the years. In fact, this is the first fundraiser that InsightLA has ever held in 10 years of operation as a non-profit.

And that is thanks to you.

Please consider becoming a monthly donor so we can serve you better and reach underserved areas of Los Angeles as well. This will also help us to continue our open door policy for people who need help to attend our programs. We are here to serve everyone.

Please visit our website to contribute or just click here. In this way, we help each other.

With a humble bow,
