About Me

Christiane Wolf, MD, PhD

Director of MBSR programs at InsightLA

I love helping people live a more fulfilled life with a good dose of humor, compassion and science.

Some of my areas of interest are: mindfulness and the brain, positive psychology, work-life balance, mindfulness and trauma, self-care, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue – and of course: training and mentoring new mindfulness/MBSR teachers. the latter recently led to co-authoring my first book: “A Clincician’s Guide to Teaching Mindfulness”

So I became a gynecologist who practiced meditation.

A sabbatical year from academia after the birth of our first child brought us to Los Angeles in 2003. Little did I know that I would not go back to my exciting  – and exhausting – position in Berlin, Germany.

Trudy, with whom I started practicing in LA saw other potentials in me and encouraged me to teach mindfulness and getting more training.

And the rest is history…
